The story mode of Fortnite does not have a definitive ending, and it's looking like it never will. ![]() There are 3D modelers who turn those designs. They're not real DLC they're just enough to be considered "more content." but the line in the Epic Games blog post, " the main story of Save the World is complete" can't help but rub many players the wrong way. There are artists who sketch out designs for the characters, weapons, and other things you see in the game. Unfortunately, the new Save the World packs are fairly uninspiring and consist of little more than weapon blueprints, cosmetics, and some in-game currency. It was initially released in early access on September 26, 2017, for macOS, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, followed by ports for iOS, Nintendo Switch. With seasonal Ventures and a reduced price point, maybe more players will take a chance on the unique survival experience. This particularly stings, as there is less incentive to buy in now that the game is slowing down its already anemic rollout of new content.įortnite: Save the World isn't dead, but it is on life support. Worst of all, despite promises of a free-to-play future, Fortnite: Save the World will remain a premium product with a $20 price point. This change signifies what most players have known for years: developer Epic is abandoning Save the World and focusing their resources on Battle Royale. It has been officially confirmed by Epic Games that Season 7 of Fortnite: Battle Royale will start on Thursday, December 6. The existence of this game mode was first revealed to the world on September 12, 2017. On the negative side, new quest lines will be added at a slower rate moving forward, with Epic choosing to instead rotate existing stories in and out, and future cosmetic packs for Battle Royale won't be compatible with Save the World. September 26, 2017, is the official Fortnite release date for its battle royale game mode.
